Nástio Mosquito arbeitet mit Performance, Spoken Word, Film und Musik. Für die Ausstellung Artes Mundi II erweitert er seine Werkreihe um den fiktionalen Charakter A. L. Moore, einen erfolgreichen Geschäftsmann, der sein Wirkungsfeld auf die Politik ausdehnt. Mosquito nutzt Mimikry und ein verführerisches Spiel mit Stereotypen, um die Inszenierungen globaler Politik, die Wiederkehr von charismatischer, autoritärer Führung und die aggressiven Zerfallserscheinungen Europas zusammenzubringen.
Die Ausstellung ist der Abschluss des D21 Jahresthemas “Emotional States”, das sich mit der Politik von Emotionen beschäftigt. Das Programm fokussiert auf den Einfluss von Affekten und Emotionen auf individuelles Verhalten und gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen innerhalb einer Lebenswirklichkeit, die sich im Zuge der Digitalisierung als Schauplatz von Selbstverstärkungsprozessen und Feedback-Loops darstellt.
Nástio Mosquito works with performance, spoken word, film and music. For the exhibition “Artes Mundi II” he expands his series on the fictional character A. L. Moore, a prosperous businessman who extends his field of influence to politics. Mosquito uses mimicry and a seductive game of stereotypes to bring together the stagings of global politics, the return of charismatic, authoritarian leadership and the aggressive disintegration of Europe.
The exhibition marks the end of D21’s annual program “Emotional States”, which focuses on the politics of emotions. The program is centered around the question of how emotions transform the behavior of individuals as well as societies and how feedback loops are shaped through the digital condition.
