With the f/stop — Fotomonat, the D21 Kunstraum is dedicating itself to the “Young Leipzig Photography Scene” and has invited students of the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts to present photographic works that were created as a diploma thesis or master’s degree in the context of the current annual theme “ÜBER MACHT / Concerning Power”.
The selected work will be presented as an exhibition in the Kunstraum for one month. There will also be a public supporting program.
Josephine Jatzlau will be showing “Können und Erfolg” in the Kunstraum from March 21. The selection was made by a jury consisting of: Cihan Çakmak (artist), Philipp Freytag (curator photography & media art at MdbK), Michael Moser (D21, photographer), Christin Müller (freelance curator & author for photography), Constanze Müller (D21, f/stop), Sandra Plessing (D21, f/stop).
In “Können und Erfolg” Josephine Jatzlau deals with archives. Based on a very personal practice of collecting, she has created a photographic archive that designs a new visual world of soccer. The aim is to undermine hegemonic structures and enable new forms of identification in the past, present and future.
