6 November 2021: Artist talk (moderated by Nora Frohmann), 21:00

In her project Metamorphose (Metamorphosis), Taiwanese artist Ya-Wen Fu experiments with different technologies and uses her body’s force as a medium for giving an object momentum. The performers metaphorically embody different social roles. Motion sensors that are attached to their bodies create live sounds out of their body extensions’ movements. Starting from experiments concerning the interdependencies of speed and mass, the “perfect” physical swing path is disturbed by an external force. The objects are mutually attracted to each other and break. The performance reflects current ways of living—technologies deny us the right to transform, to be inert and to interpret reality.

The art space opens on Friday (5 November 2021) and Saturday (6 November 2021) from 15:00 to 21:00 and on Sunday (7 November 2021) from 15:00 to 19:00.
