f/stop – Month of Photography

D21 Kunstraum is ente­ring the second edi­ti­on of the f/stop – Photo Month and will focus on the “Young Local Photography Scene.” In 2026, gra­dua­tes of art aca­de­mies from the Central Germany regi­on are invi­ted to pre­sent pho­to­gra­phic works that were crea­ted as the­sis in the con­text of the annu­al the­me “ALIEN.”

The open call is direc­ted at artists of all ages who live in Central Germany (Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia) and who will com­ple­te their aca­de­mic art degree in 2025.

Graduation works that enga­ge in dia­lo­gue with the annu­al the­me of D21 Kunstraum may be sub­mit­ted. The sel­ec­ted works will be pre­sen­ted in an exhi­bi­ti­on at D21 Kunstraum for one month, accom­pa­nied by a public program.

The jury con­sists of:
Cihan Çakmak (artist), Philipp Freytag (cura­tor for pho­to­gra­phy & media art at MdbK), Michael Moser (D21, pho­to­grapher), Christin Müller (inde­pen­dent cura­tor & aut­hor on pho­to­gra­phy), Constanze Müller/Sandra Plessing (D21, f/stop).

  • Provided by D21: PR, instal­la­ti­on and deinstal­la­ti­on sup­port, and an exhi­bi­ti­on fee of €400
  • Announcement of sel­ec­ted artist(s): End of 2025

  • CV and port­fo­lio of pre­vious­ly rea­li­zed works in PDF for­mat with infor­ma­ti­ve texts and images
  • All mate­ri­als must be com­bi­ned into one sin­gle PDF file (no sepa­ra­te pages), max. 10 pages / 12 MB.
