D21 Kunstraum is entering the second edition of the f/stop – Photo Month and will focus on the “Young Local Photography Scene.” In 2026, graduates of art academies from the Central Germany region are invited to present photographic works that were created as thesis in the context of the annual theme “ALIEN.”
The open call is directed at artists of all ages who live in Central Germany (Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia) and who will complete their academic art degree in 2025.
Graduation works that engage in dialogue with the annual theme of D21 Kunstraum may be submitted. The selected works will be presented in an exhibition at D21 Kunstraum for one month, accompanied by a public program.
The jury consists of: Cihan Çakmak (artist), Philipp Freytag (curator for photography & media art at MdbK), Michael Moser (D21, photographer), Christin Müller (independent curator & author on photography), Constanze Müller/Sandra Plessing (D21, f/stop).

- Concept of the diploma or master class exhibition, including research questions and works shown
- CV and portfolio of previously realized works in PDF format with informative texts and images
