Her publikation »Next of Kin« is an intertwined story in which the past and the present try to connect with each other, but also to disconnect.

»My identity is strongly influenced by my mother and the way she raised me. When I look in the mirror, I see my mother looking back at me. Although I recognize these similarities, I am still afraid of repeating similar choices. This journey of finding my own identity has led me to Chicago, the place where I was born. Next of Kin is a tribute to my matriarchal lineage.«
