As part of the finissage of “Disruptive Structures,” Luise Schröder will present her current artist publication “Streams in Motion,” which thematically and aesthetically explores the experiences and activities of non-state women’s and lesbian groups in East Germany during the 1980s and 1990s. A conversation between the artist and curator Olga Vostretsova will provide deeper insights into the thematic field and the creative process. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask questions. The bookstore “drift” will showcase a thematic book table and introduce the event.
The images and texts used in the publication Strömungen in Bewegung originate from the GrauZone collection of the Archive of the East German Opposition of the Robert-Havemann-Gesellschaft and the Spinnboden Lesbian Archive & Library. They have been artistically processed and altered by Luise Schröder. The artist not only engages with historical gaps but also highlights the significance of archives as powerful institutions. Strömungen in Bewegung was published in 2025 by FOTOHOF>EDITION and designed by Anika Rosen. The publication was commissioned, supported, and financed by the Berlin Program for Artistic Research, the Kunstfonds / Neustart Kultur Foundation, and the SpallArt Collection.
Olga Vostretsova is a curator, author, and educator based in Leipzig. She works institutionally as a curator for diversity at the MdbK Leipzig and independently on curatorial projects focusing on contemporary feminist art, critical art education, and PostOst perspectives.
